Dr. Alicia Klees

Teaching Assistant Professor and Faculty Program Coordinator of the Online Weather and Climate Risk and Data Analytics M.S. and Certificate Programs

Dr. Alicia Klees is a Teaching Assistant Professor in theDepartment of Climate, Meteorology & Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the Faculty Program Coordinator of the Online Weather and Climate Risk and Data Analytics M.S. degree and graduate-level certificate programs. In this position, she leverages her expertise in the modeling, analysis, and prediction of high-impact phenomena such as supercell thunderstorms and tornadoes. Dr. Klees holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences from Penn State University.

As the Faculty Program Coordinator, Dr. Klees serves as an academic adviser for the online students in both the certificate and M.S. programs. Additionally, she works with students to customize their experience, as well as to partner M.S. students with industry and/or academic professionals for their innovative capstone research projects.

Heather A. Miller

SESE Online Program Coordinator

Heather Miller is the Online Program Coordinator for the School of Earth, Society and Environment (SESE). She provides expertise and support for all certificate and degree programs within SESE to students and faculty, and assists with the day-to-day operations of the programs. 

Ms. Miller applies her expertise from 20+ years of industry experience, and as an Illinois specialized faculty member and former student adviser, in a collaborative role with the Faculty Program Coordinator, Dr. Alicia Klees, to provide students support during their online experience at the University of Illinois. She has experience mentoring and advising students and also teaches within the Earth, Society and Environment program.
